First and foremost: All scripture is given by God through the Holy Spirit and is His divine message for us today.
Words and their Power
There are many places in the word of God, where the importance of our words and even our thoughts are mentioned. King David, who was called a man after God's own heart, said “Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalms 141:3. Then in Psalms 19:14: “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Proverbs 3:1 says, “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” Proverbs 1:14 says, “A wise man holds his tongue”.
God not only cares what you think or say, He tells us that our words have power. Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue can speak words that bring life or death. Those who love to talk must be ready to accept what it brings”. Jesus told us to let our answers be 'yes or no', and that we must ask the Father in His (Jesus') name for what we want, and that it will be granted. Now some folks say that's not true or that we 'misunderstand' the scripture. Here's the problem: 1) he enemy (Satan) has been spreading lies about God's will, for centuries, 2) Jesus said that when we ask, with no doubt in our hearts, we will receive. No where does the bible say “if God's in the mood” or “If God's listening – because He says that he is always listening”, - nor does it say “if you're good enough or perfect enough” or “beg and cry enough” that God hears you. The bible does say, in Exodus 15:26. “I am the God who heals you” and in Luke 4:40 “Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them”. Jesus never turned anyone away when they asked for healing. In Mark 5, the woman with a “issue of blood” didn't even ask and she was healed, because she BELIEVED. Her words were “If I can just touch His garment, I can be cleansed / healed”.
When praying, we must speak words of faith. Prayer Partners, if you can agree according to Matthew 18:19 our prayers will be answered. We are in a spiritual battle for the physical and spiritual well being of these children. Let me give you an example:
“Father we ask, in the name of Jesus, that Kingdom Way Children's Ministry receive donations sufficient to meet the needs of the children in it's care. We pray Lord that you would send prayer partners, as well as financial partners, to bless this ministry as they provide spiritual and physical care to these, your children. Thank you, Father, and praise you for enough money to feed, shelter, and cloth, these beautiful children. May they be taught of you, Lord, bless them and give them understanding of your love and your mighty power, that reigns victorious through Jesus Christ, our savior. Amen.”
Now it's time to begin praising God for the funds being sent. If you've sent all that what you can, and there is still a need announced, then you say “Thank you Lord for the hearts that hear you and are sending funds”. Ephesians 6:13 says, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Give no ground to Satan by giving words of doubt and disbelief! Praise the Lord in all circumstances, because doing so not only shows our faith in what God is doing but it builds our faith in what God is doing and is going to do. Hebrews 11:1 says that Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” I love to read this verse in the Amplified Bible Classic translation: “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” If you are given the title deed to a piece of property that you have inherited, that is PROOF that there is a real property and that YOU own it. God is telling us that our Faith ‐ our belief that prayers are answered ‐ is that title deed. So if we believe it, then we can receive it. Just as Jesus said. Hallelujah!!
Stay strong in faith and in praising God!!
